Lean on God

Welcome to our website designed to live stream the leaning barn on M32. We are so blessed to be able to share this with you all! As you have seen in the bio under the live stream, this property has been in our family since 1936. We are so blessed to be able to be the next generation to care for the land and buildings.

After we bought the property, we discovered what a point of conversation and landmark the barn had become for those traveling on M32. We have watched on social media as people post pictures and paintings that they have done of the barn. One lady even crafted a beautiful quilt! We love that so many people love our leaning barn. One man created t-shirts with an outline of the barn. Below the barn, it says “ON ME”. Everyone immediately gets it and reads it as “LEAN ON ME”. We love it!

As I wore the t-shirt the designer gifted me one day, I decided I didn't agreed with the phrase "LEAN ON ME" anymore. As a busy mom of five, business owner, school board member, volunteer in several areas, and trying to get a new ministry off the ground, on this busy stressful day, I looked down at my shirt and thought, “Oh, please don’t lean on me! Please, no one else can lean on me; I will fall over!”

You see, I am human, and I can’t hold myself up let alone everyone else! But God can! God is the firm foundation that we all can lean on, and He will not fail! If you follow our Facebook page, you have seen me say: This barn is such a beautiful example of life with God. This barn still has a firm, square, solid foundation. This barn may be battered and beaten, boards stolen off it, and some of the posts holding it up right have broken under the weight of the lean, but it still stands because the foundation is solid and strong.

Our lives are the same; the Bible says: Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Matthew 7:24-25 New American Standard Bible, 1995

If we build our lives on the Rock of Jesus Christ, we will stand in the storms. We will stand when others come and steal boards off of us. We will stand even when it feels like we are going to break, and maybe parts of us are breaking, but God will be our firm foundation. We can stay upright with Him under our feet.

I know the trials of life. I have faced devastating circumstances in my lifetime. I have been in the storms and had people steal things from me that left parts of me broken. When I was young and life threw major storms my way, I chose to walk away from the God I had been serving. I was so angry that He would allow these storms in my life, but God knew exactly how to get me back to Him. He waited, and like the gentleman He is, He didn't push His way into my life. He pursued me and quietly nudged me over and over. But, at the end of the day, it was always my choice to decide what foundation I wanted my life built on.

I am both nervous and excited to start this blog. My hope and prayer is that it will encourage you to lean on God, not man, and to see Him as the good God He is. The God who has given you free choice to do what you want in life, but He is longing for you to choose a relationship with Him. I hope this website and blog helps you understand the God who created the world around us, who is so creative and powerful He breaths out stars and paints the sky with northern lights. I pray and hope you discover His never ending love for you personally, so that you will lean on Him, the One who is the only One who can hold you up.

Please join our email list, and we will let you know when a new blog is added here. I plan to post a new entry every Thursday at 7 p.m. Add our web address to your favorites, barnon32.com, so you can rest and watch the peaceful happenings at the farm easily whenever you need a break. And most importantly, as you go throughout your week, remember to lean on God, not man. Men will let you down, but God will stand forever!
